Vegetable Gardening in Small Spaces
Today I want to focus on how you can garden in small spaces and how to maximize your harvest. I also want to touch on how to achieve variety in the garden by teaming up with a few neighborhood friends.
The most important lesson you can take away from gardening in a small space is how to get the most from what little space you have. Being able to reap multiple harvests using the cut and come method will help.
What does the term cut and come again mean?

What does the term cut and come again mean?
The cut and come method refers to a garden plant, especially a green vegetable or a flower, that can be repeatedly cut or harvested. If you use this method the vegetables best suited for this type of gardening are kale, collard greens, spinach, and lettuce. A word of caution. Leafy greens are more difficult to grow in hot weather. It can be done but it may be wise to grow them in the spring and or fall.
This screenshot was taken from Introduction To My Frugal Garden I grew these squash inside a pot. During the summer you have many other choices such as green beans, peppers, squash, cucumbers or potatoes. Click the image above to watch the video.

Growing vertical has been around for a long time but has become more popular in recent years. You do not need a massive amount of crates to start. The photo above is an extreme version of what you can do if you had space and time. Start with just two crates and add on if you like.

One thing to remember is that you are not alone. Since the explosion of social media, the number of home gardeners has gone up dramatically. You probably have a neighborhood garden within a few blocks of where you live. Let's say you grow spinach or lettuce and they grow corn or tomatoes it wouldn't take much to work out a bartering system where everybody wins.
