I don't believe the headlines, what I do believe is that prices on fruits and vegetables will go up due to a lack of migrant farmhands to plant and harvest certain crops in various parts of the country. The produce will be there but the question becomes how much will you be willing to pay for it?

"This could have a very serious impact on the flow of fresh fruits and vegetables to American stores," the head of a farmers group said.



There is a simple solution, grow your own vegetables. Not only will you save money you can eliminate those pesticides and other chemicals you normally get with your supermarket vegetables.  



As always I have received resistance to my suggestion. A friend of mine who has a small yard told me it was not practical for him to plant a garden and that it was not possible to grow enough vegetables to feed his family for the summer.  


So let me be clear. The idea is to plant a few of your favorite veggies to offset any price increases. The more you grow the better off  (and healthier) you and your budget will be.
