Double Your Vegetable Harvest

For many families money is tighter than ever before. The surge in new gardeners is a sure sign that many people are now supplementing their grocery shopping with vegetables from their newly planted backyard garden. What do you do if you don't have a large enough growing space or if you don't have the funds to start a huge garden?

If you can't expand your garden by extending it horizontally then why not go vertical? Another method used by gardeners who want to grow more in less space is called intercropping.

Intercropping is a multiple cropping practices that involves growing two or more crops in proximity. In other words, intercropping is the cultivation of two or more crops simultaneously on the same field.

The good news is that you don't have to choose between a vertical garden and intercropping. This summer I will be doing both.

Here is the first video in the series. Follow me and the process to see what I will plant and how I will integrate these gardening methods to ensure a greater yield this summer and fall.
