Transitioning into Fall Gardening

If you follow my blog or YouTube channel you know that I garden 365 days a year. September is an interesting time in the garden because not only am I still tending to my late crops like

watermelon, figs and squash

I am keeping an eye on my ghost peppers and sweet potatoes I need to start my fall and winter greens. In the past, I have waited until mid-September which is considered late. It gave me time to transition over from summer to fall but I found it harder to get seeds to germinate when I waited longer.

Last winter was the first time I grew vegetables without a covering. I normally use my mini greenhouse and in previous years I did a makeshift cold frame.

Last winter I grew mustard greens uncovered. In my next video, I will show you how they turned out.
