Last fall I transferred starter purple cabbage plants to my raised crate garden. I also direct seeded a few more just in case.  Well my just in case serrano happened. Between the squirrels, the dear and the bugs some of my container plants got beaten up pretty badly. I took the smaller (direct seed ) plants and moved them to where the ruined plants were. 

Yes, the sizes look awkward but that's a good thing.  You never want all of your cabbage ready to harvest at the same time.
